Amazon said on Thursday that it has created three lakh new jobs in India over the past year, as it continues to grow quarter-on-quarter with more people shopping online amid the pandemic. This is a third of the number of jobs that its founder and CEO Jeff Bezos had committed to achieve by 2025 when he visited India in January 2020.
We are very confident of exceeding our goal of one million incremental jobs by 2025, over and above the 700,000 that we had in India before the announcement (in January 2020), Amit Agarwal, global senior VP and country head, Amazon India, told ET in a chat on Thursday.
