Hang Seng Index climbs as HSBC paces bank winners on dividend hopes and mainland funds pick laggards

Hong Kong stocks rose, extending gains in Year of the Ox trading, as HSBC led winners ahead of major earnings reports from lenders this week while mainland fund managers picked selective market laggards.The Hang Seng Index rose 0.5 per cent to 30,795.92 as of 10.07am local time.
